Ohio Central at Sugarcreek by Doug Leffler
The name "Sugarcreek" almost sounds like it should be the name of a movie.  Remember the Jimmy Stewart western called "Firecreek?

Anyway, I'm sure all of you have heard of Sugarcreek, Ohio and the Ohio Central rail empire operated by Jerry Jacobson.  Well, Sugarcreek used to host a nice passenger train that operated from there to Baltic, Ohio.  The run was the perfect length for a train ride and it was great for train chasing as well.  In May, 1998, we visited Sugarcreek...to ride the train and also photograph it. I'm glad we did, as Jerry had to pull the plug not too long ago on the neat steam operation, due partly to escalating insurance costs and liability issues.

Isn't the 1551 a beautiful locomotive?
